According to BNN dispatches, Newark Airport officials requested support from the Port Authority Police for two separate, back-to-back security incidents with arriving flights today.
The first came in just before noon and asked PAPD to meet an incoming aircraft from Germany at gate 136, regarding a passenger detained in restraints by the flight crew after he threw a hot meal at a flight attendant. The suspect was later released by the FBI.
The second incident, dispatched at 12:26, was related to the pilot’s report of a “disturbance on board.” PAPD was requested to meet the flight at gate 121. No further details are available at this time.
