The National Transportation Safety Board has released new details on the local model and fashion blogger who was seriously injured in December after walking into a moving plane propeller. According to a preliminary report, the plane, carrying Lauren Scruggs, 23, had just landed at a Aero Country Airport in McKinney following a 20-minute Christmas lights tour. The pilot, whose name wasn’t listed, was waiting, with the engine running, to take another passenger on the tour. As Scruggs was leaving, the pilot motioned her to walk behind the plane, and then turned his head. The report says the pilot then heard someone yell, “STOP STOP!” The pilot immediately turned off the engine, and saw Scruggs lying in front of the plane.
It’s unclear if Scruggs saw the pilot’s warning. She lost her left hand and eye in the accident. She is still recovering.
