Oman Air appoints airport service manager in UAE
May 26, 2013- Muscat –
Oman Air has appointed a woman airport service manager to its team at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Following an extensive induction training, Gheitha al Hosny has joined the team at Abu Dhabi.
Oman Air’s chief executive officer Wayne Pearce welcomed Gheitha to her new role. “I am delighted, on behalf of all at Oman Air, to welcome Gheitha al Hosny to her new role, where I am sure she will excel.
“She has a strong track record within Oman Air and was appointed in the face of stiff competition. Gheitha is also the first Omani woman we have appointed to the key international position of airport services manager and I am sure that she will provide great inspiration to other Omani women who are considering a career in aviation.”
Prior to her appointment in Abu Dhabi, Gheitha began her career with Oman Air in 1994 as a lounge receptionist, rising to acting duty manager at Muscat International Airport.
While Oman Air operates a fully transparent recruitment policy and employs a multinational workforce across its 42 destinations, the national carrier is also committed to supporting career development within the sultanate and assisting Omani workers to achieve their full potential. This approach, according to a press release, dovetails with the country’s policy of Omanisation.
