Sioux Falls to host aviation convention next fall
Sioux Falls will host a national aviation convention next fall. The National Association of Aviation Officials Convention and Tradeshow will run Sept. 28-Oct. 1, 2013. The association was founded in 1931, predating the Federal Aviation Administration’s predecessor, the Civil Aeronautics Authority.

Jo Ann Speer, airport manager at Everett-Stewart Regional Airport, has been recognized with the Airport Manager of the Year Excellence Award by the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission.

Elmira-Corning Regional Airport Jumping to “Next Level” With Expansion
The Elmira-Corning Regional Airport is making a step up to “the next level. That’s what airport manager Ann Crook called the expansion of the main runway, which will open Tuesday. “This is a pretty exciting project for us.” The airport’s main runway was 7,600 feet long. With the extension, it will be 8,000 feet long.

Caltrans Criticism Possibly Unwarranted
