Colorado WAM to Benefit New Mexico Airport

Pilots flying in and out of Navajo Lake Airport in Navajo Dam, adsb.jpgNew Mexico will now be able to take advantage of Colorado’s Wide Area Multilateration (WAM), which began initial operations in Colorado on September 12, 2009. According to Ronald B. Keller, Aviation Safety & Education Administrator, New Mexico Department of Transportation -Aviation Division, a multilateration remote unit (MRU)was built for the Navajo Dam airport.

Appreciating America’s Veteran

A young private shakes the hand of an older soldier and thanks him for his service during the Korean War, over 60 years ago. As James Rutherford, a retired Army veteran, receives his medical treatment at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., he beams with pride and vitality as he relays his memories of the distant past to Pvt. Nancy Delgado, a chaplains assistant, 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, who is barely 19 and has only served two months in the Army.

Progressive Aerodyne Passes FAA LSA Prototype Audit

Progressive Aerodyne, Inc., (PA) the manufacturer of SeaRey, IMG_7748edit.jpgLight Sport Amphibian Airplane, successfully passed an FAA Light Sport Aircraft Prototype Audit by the audit team from FAA AIR-200 in Washington D.C. and obtained an airworthiness certification from the FAA Orlando MIDO (Manufacturing Inspection District Offices) office on November 8, 2012.

CAF Honors Military Aviation Legends with Dinner

The Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) began a weekend of activities to honor our military aviation legends IMG_2991edit.jpgby hosting a dinner last Friday evening in Mesa, Arizona. The dinner provided attendees the opportunity to meet and dine with legendary aviators and share in their unique and historic experiences. The keynote address was provided by Sergei Sikorsky (Shown at right), noted rotorcraft advocate and son of Igor Sikorsky.
