Southwest Airlines prepares to launch new service from Charleston tomorrow

Already ticket prices have fallen at the Charleston International Airport. Southwest Airlines begins seven non stop flights from the lowcountry to four destinations daily.
A spokesperson for the airline said the Southwest effect is already setting in. Usually prices fall 30 percent at airports where the low cost carrier comes.
A spokesperson for the airport said ticket prices in the weeks following the first flight are already cheaper. The airport expects volume in and out of Charleston to grow 25 percent.
